Assistant Agent is the title given to all certificate of registration holders in NSW. This is an entry level position, with limited functions, to allow new entrants to gain the experience and knowledge required to qualify as an agent.
Persons holding a Certificate of Registration can only act under the supervision of an Class 1 LIC.
Qualification requirements
In order to apply for a Certificate of Registration, candidates must provide a Statement of Attainment (SOA) -with successful completion of the below subjects:
We offer the Assistant Agents course in NSW through a number of Registered Training Organisations (RTO) under a third party provider arrangement. Your enrolment will be through one of our partner RTO’s who will issue your Statement of Attainment once they are satisfied you have successfully completed all the requirements of the course. Full details of our partnership arrangements and responsibilities will be provided to you upon enrolment and is fully explained in your Learner Handbook.
How long does it take?
You have 90 days to complete the course after enrolling. The level of trainer assistance is based on which learning option you choose. You can also opt for scheduled ZOOM sessions as per our timetable.

What happens at the end of my Assistant Agent registration?
By the end of the 4 years, the certificate of registration holder can either obtain a Class 2 licence or cease working as an Assistant Agent.
A person may apply for a new Certificate of Registration 1 year after the expiry of their previous Certificate of Registration.
Can I renew an Assistant Agent Registration?
No, a Certificate of Registration as an Assistant Agent is a one-off certificate issued for a period of 4 years.
Can I extend the 4-year time period as an Assistant Agent? What about extenuating circumstances?
No. The period of 4 years provides ample time to complete the qualification, with a buffer for time away from work due to health, family or other reasons.
Do I need to do any further study in that 4 years?
Yes, you do. It’s a requirement of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) you need to complete a minimum three units of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice each year. RMC can help with this – you can elect to do via in-class at Parramatta, correspondence or zoom sessions.

Depends on the course option you choose – either 1, 2 or 3.
